you didn't heed

the scar's warning,

you couldn't see

vivacity's jealous foil.

you wouldn't have anticipated

the relentless weight

say, of pocketed stone

and too much water.


how does one stay clear?


madness infiltrates

both ink and blood

obliterating nature,

confusing nurture

and escape

foiled

this one last time

milk and bread;

and oblivion

lies dissected:

a corpus delicti.
